1 Faults on Fuel Valve

Check Methods  
A. Voltage of fuel valve.
B. Suction iron clicks?
C. Overflow valve.
A. In case of the key switch at the working position, the connection point of magnetic valve shall has voltage under the working conditions, the purple wire shall have voltage, the coil consumes power of 24W, in case of 24V, current of approx. 1A, the black wire is of negative.
B. Movable diesel engine. Tell the assistant to turn the key switch to the working position, then turn to O position, the valve will give off click, if necessary, check the action of iron, dot press the start button and the stop button in turns, the valve will give off click.(Repeat if necessary).
C. Check if the overflow valve can be sealed negatively, if not, replace the overflow valve

2 Low compressive pressure

Causes Remedies
A. Block of air filter or the air inlet system.
B. Improper gap of air door.
C. Mistaken timing of distribution.
D. Air leakage of cylinder liner.
E. Air door open and close inflexibly.
F. Wear of cylinder packing.
G. Air leakage between air door and air door base.
H. Friction, wear, or break of piston ring.
I. Wear of air door rod and/or air door conduit.
J. Break of air door spring.
A. Replace air filter /clean the air inlet system.

3 Too High Air Press Inside Crank Box

B. Check specification of fuel/ contact with the fuel supplier.

5 Engine Decoupling

Causes Remedies
A. Pull -- rod of throttle.
B. Air in the oil inlet passage.
C. Friction of high speed movement of the speed adjustor.
A. Check if the gap of connect pints of the pull -- rod is too large, adjust for correct gap, replace component if necessary.
B. Check if there is leakage, replace the damaged parts.
C. Repair the speed adjustor, replace if necessary.

6 Engine Vibrates

Causes Remedies
A. Faults on oil injector or improper type.
B. Friction of control system of rotary speed.
C. Too high temp. of engine.
D. Damage of cooling fan.
E. Assemble faults of engine.

A. Press the button of the safety pipe for reset of the pipe.

16 The engine cannot reach the rated rotary speed

F. Apply wrong type or brand of fuel oil.

J. Damage of pressure pipe.
A. Remove air inside the fuel oil; tighten joints of oil pipes and the filter.
B. Check the vertical pipes of the oil tank.
C. Decoupling the driving set of the engine.
D. Replace the fuel filter and add a heater for fuel.

F. Adopt a temporary oil tank to start engine for identification.

F. Faults of the start relay.
G. Faults of the start motor.
H. Faults of any start circuit.
I. Water inside the engine.
J. Low temperature of lubricant oil.
K. Apply wrong type of lub. Oil.
L. Other inside and outside causes affecting turn of the engine.
A. Check the electrolyte level and add if necessary.
Charge the storage battery, replace it if necessary.
B. Close the main switch.
C. Press the button at the pipe for reset.
D. Remove any break or improper contact, check if there is oxidation, wash if necessary.
E. Replace the key switch.
F. Replace the start relay.
G. Contact the authorized personnel.
H. Check all other start circuit.
I. Contact with the authorized repairman, don’try to start the engine.

Alternator

1 Too low voltage of the genset under a load
A. Check if the rotary speed of the genset is normal.
B. Check if the UFRO set of AVR is correct.
C. As per the test of excitation separation, check AVR.
D. Damage of rotary diode.
 
2 Too low voltage at free running of the genset
A. Check if the rotary speed of the genset is too low.
B. Check if l -- 2 connection of AVR or outside connected manual micro adjustment is perfect.
 
3 Too High of Output Voltage
A. Check if the rotary speed of the genset is too high.
B. Check if the load of the genset is of capacitive load (leading power factor).
 
4 Unstable Output of Voltage of the Genset
A. Check if the rotary speed is stable.
B. Check if the setup of stability is correct.
 
5 During running of the genset, no voltage outputs
A. Check the connection ofK1 -- K2 from AVR is correct and reliable.
B. Check the rotary speed of the diesel genset.
C. Check the residual magnetism voltage, charge magnetism if necessary.
D. As per the test of excitation separation, check alternator and AVR.
 

Electrical Control

1 Remote Emergency Stop Cannot Be Realized
A. Confirm the remote contact was normally realized.
B. Confirm the CV2 agreed adaptor was installed in 550, with correct connection.
C. Confirm CV2 related connection wires are correct free of miss.
D. Confirm the genset is of auto standby mode.
E. Confirm the secrete remote codes input correctly.
 
2 Remote Monitor Cannot Be Realized
A. Confirm the monitor software is correctly installed in a remote PC.
B. Confirm the setting of contact parameters of monitor interface correctly corresponding with the actual connection modes.
C. In case of contact of dialing numbers, confirm the MODEM correctly tested by 550, confirm correct settings of remote MODEM.
D. Confirm contact circuit correct and reliable, free of busy.
E. Confirm the contact interface correctly connected with the contact module.
 
3 The genset unable to stop automatically in the auto mode
A. Confirm the public power resumes normal completely.
B. Confirm there is no actions of public power inductor.
C. Confirm completion of delay of auto stop.
D. Check if the magnetic valve of fuel is normal, replace if necessary.
E. For the genset with the electronic speed adjusting system, confirm all EPG settings are correct and reasonable.
F. Confirm correct settings of oil volume of oil injection pump.
 
4 Unable to stop manually
A. Inspect the positions of key switch and control switch are correct.
B. , , Co, nfirm all ele, ctri, , cal control parts are normal.
C. Inspect if the magnetic valve of fuel is normal, replace if necessary.
D. For the genset with the electronic speed adjusting system, confirm all EPG , settings are correct and reasonable.
E. Confirm correct setting of oil volume of oil injector.
F. For 550, confirm the genset runs , man, , ually.
 
5 The genset unable to undertake load
A. Check if the voltage is normal.
B. Check features of load, confirm free of overload and leading power factor.
C. Confirm the handle of MCCB upwards and set of all items are correct and reasonable.
D. For clients equipped with ATS, especially inspect ATS and relevant parts.
E. Inspec, t all connection wires controlled by ATS, ensure there is no mistakes.
F. Confirm ATS transfer control switch isn't at the"MAINS" position.
G. In case of ATS transfer control switch away of the"AUTO" position, confirm the connected public power without normal voltage.
H. Confirm the power of the genset correctly connected with ATS terminals.
I. Confirm the main AC contactor of ATS flexible, without block.
 
6 Low Voltage Alarming
A. Measure the actual value of voltage output of the genset.
B. Confirm there is no deflection on meter indication.
C. In case of low actual voltage, inspect as procedures and readjust AVR.
D. Confirm normal rotary speed /frequency.
E. In case of normal actual voltage, check if the circuit for display of voltage is correct.
F. Especially inspect the three fuses are normal and connected reliably.
G. Confirm there is no big variant of three phases of voltage.
H. Confirm there is no miss of phase.
I. Confirm in case of alarming, there is no big variant of load.
J. Confirm the genset runs without overload.
K. For 550 electrical control systems, check if the alarming limit of low voltage is reasonable.
 
7 High Voltage Alarming
A. Measure the actual value of vo, ltage output of the genset.
B. Confirm there is no deflection on meter indication.
C. In case of high of actua1 voltage, inspect as procedures and readjust AVR.
D. Confirm free of capacitive load and leading power factor.
E. Confirm normal rotary speed/frequency.
F. In case of normal actual voltage, check if the circuit for display of voltage is correct.
G. For 550 electrical control system, check if the alarming limit of high voltage is reasonable
 
8 Stop Of Over Speed Fault
A. Check if there is an abnormal indication of the tachometer.
B. For the mechanical speed adjusting mechanism, check if the pull -- rod of throttle is flexible, and ensure correct adjustment.
C. For the electronic speed adjusting system, check if the pull -- rod of thrott1e is flexible and if the act mechanism acts correctly, and ensure correct adjustment of EPG.
D. Realignment and adjustment of limit of over speed protection.
E. For 50l, 520 electrical control system, check the position of micro switch behind is correct.
F. For 550 electrical control system, check if the stop of over speed protection is set reasonable.
G. After removal of faults, reset the a1arming signal on the control panel.
 
9 Low Oil Pressure Faults Alarming/Stop
A. Check the level of engine oil.
B. Check quality and viscosity of engine oil.
C. Check the temperature of engine oil.
D. Check if the sensor of oil pressure is damaged.
E. For 50l, 520 electrical control systems, check the position of micro switch behind is correct.
F. For 550 electrical control system, check if the low oil temp. alarming/stop is set reasonable.
G. Check if the filter of engine oil and oil passage are blocked.
 
10 High Water Temperature Faults Alarming/Stop
A. Check if the genset is overload.
B. Check if the heat radiator is blocked.
C. Check the tightness of the belt of fan.
D. After complete cooling of the genset, check if the level of cooling water is enough.
E. Check if the water temperature sensor is damaged.
F. For 50l, 520 electrical control systems, check the position of micro switch behind is correct.
G. For 550 electrical control systems, check if the high water temp. alarming/stop is set reasonable.
H. Check if the thermostat can be opened correctly.
I. Check if the gap of water tank and water pump is correct.
J. Ensure the temp. inside the room no more than 40
 
11 In case of the start motor running, the genset unable to couple
A. Check fue1 level, ensure correct connection of oil pipe.
B. For the genset with mechanical speed adjusting system, checks if the magnetic valve of throttle is correctly suctioned.
C. For the genset with electrical speed adjusting system, checks if EPG power is correctly connected and if the voltage is normal.
D. For the genset with electrical speed adjusting system, in the course of start motor running, check if there is a correct AC voltage signal at MPU.
E. Check if the rotary speed of the genset reached or excelled the set normal rotary speed for start.
F. Check if the fuel transfer system is blocked.
G. Check if the air filter is blocked.
H. At the cold areas, before start, ensure the genset is preheated
 
12 In case of the signal"START" correctly input, but manual /auto unable to start
A. Check if the emergency stop button is free.
B. Check if the control key is at the position of "STOP".
C. Check if there is fault indication, repair faults if necessary, and reset relevant information.
D. Check the battery voltage, in case of too low voltage, recharges the battery fully. In case of normal voltage, as per drawings, step by step check the voltage signal is correctly delivered to all control points such as magnetic valve of throttle and start motor, etc.
E. In case of all outside connections without problems , replace re1evant electrical control unit
 
13 In case of key turned to"START", the genset unable to star
A. Check if the key switch moves correctly.
B. Check if there is fault indication, repair faults if necessary, and reset relevant information.
C. Check the battery voltage, in case of too low voltage, recharge the battery fully. In case of normal voltage, as per drawings, step by step check the voltage signal is correctly delivered to all control points such as magnetic valve of throttle and start motor, etc.
D. Check if the emergency stop button is free.
